Drattit. [Oct. 30th, 2008|12:37 am]
My cat went missing and got knocked down two weeks or so ago. I've only now stumbled across a photo of him, I thought we had none. For some reason I'm more annoyed that I couldn't find the pic to stick on the missing poster than I am at being reminded that the poor sod took on traffic and lost. :-( As if it would have made a difference to find this two weeks ago.

oh P.S. [Jul. 19th, 2008|02:33 am]
Remind me that I don't like to smoke anymore. Even if I think 'Oh, I've had a drink, a ciggie would be OK', no, it's not. Bleck. Yuck. I'm afraid I am becoming an ex-smoker. Sorry and all that.

Small sorrow [Jul. 19th, 2008|01:56 am]
I went out with an old schoolfriend or three tonight. I am sad because the bloke who organised this has decided to move to NZ, next Friday. I haven't seen him in ten years. He is one of the good guys, as are the other folk I was out with (who are probably still clubbing as I speak). How can this gem, who I just got back in touch with, move across the planet? I don't know his wife or his child or the one who will arrive shortly after they move. How did I miss so much of this man's life? I've forgotten so much about the day-to-day of him. He had me in stitches with his impressions, and also marvelling that he's such a royal PITA and would be a world-class troll if he owned a computer.

As an aside, how and when did his little brother grow up to be such a great bloke? I mean, seriously, ladies in your late twenties, look out for this bloke because he's a catch. Last time I saw him he was about ten and covered in grot. It's a slight culture shock.

(PS those here who know me well in RL can try and guess who it is I'm talking about from the above description. ;-)

Few questions for the flist [Jun. 15th, 2008|04:10 pm]
How do I change the name of this journal? I've seen a few folk do it but I've no idea how they did it.

For the ME/CFS-afflicted friends, are you aware of a dietary component to the condition? Another friend WINOLJ has been told to avoid lots of food because of ME and told it's quite common to develop all sorts of food intolerances with ME. I don't remember any of you folks mentioning such a thing, so I thought I'd ask, since I'm nosey and all - of course, if you have mentioned it many many times feel free to point me to the relevent entries and to slap me for being forgetful.

Another diety one - has anyone heard of an adult person becoming coeliac? I thought it was something that a person was born with (although ten seconds of googling suggests it's auto-immune and therefore could be developed?) and that it would have to be diagnosed reasonably early in life?

Apart from that, how are you all? I'm in sinus hell, suppose that's what I get for not smoking, ho hum.

Apologies if this has made its way round the intertubes already.

Note to self [Apr. 2nd, 2007|10:33 am]
Well, two:

1) If you are mixing New!! and Exciting!!! drinks from a vast array of spirits, you do not need to try them all.

2) If you hear yourself say, before starting to drink at a party 'I need to eat', *listen* to yourself, you stupid woman.

Still, was a good party until the alcohol won. :-) Good to see people, although the Fire Lady's family left half their flammable toys at home for a change.

Also, I will get round to that music meme I've been tagged for, but as soon as I try and think of songs (while the stereo is on) I just like all of them.

The shootings at the Amish school [Oct. 8th, 2006|12:31 am]

Oh no you ditint [Oct. 6th, 2006|12:23 am]
(Yes that's typed right - try saying it in a hood sorta stylee. Yeah OK I'm a very sad individual. ;-)

I have just, about two minutes ago, spotted an (apparently confused) ant sprinting across a piece of paper to the right of the monitor. That had better be the one and only ant I see, else that twitch is going to return. Ant season is *over*, dagnabbit.

Funny how, when there's far worse things to be concerned about, it's the little annoyances like that which make you want to scream and head for the hills.

Oh, in case anyone was wondering, it is now an ex-ant, it has ceased to be.

Shopping oddness [Oct. 3rd, 2006|04:44 pm]
The ads Gmail throws out are a weird and varied bunch. One was for http://www.greenkarat.com/about/about.asp#recycle who make jewellery out of recycled gold. For some reason that idea makes my brain hurt a bit. Another was for a range of altar gift baskets - I kid you not - with everything your altar needs for various sabbats. At last, now I know what to get the altar which has everything! Hurrah! I can't post a link to that though, as apparently there is some strange cut'n'paste restriction for that Yahoo shop. Spoilsports, some people have no sense of humour.

[edit] to correct a typo. Which I was tempting to change to something which made *less* sense. :-)
